New Admin Feature Groups Volunteer Data By Affiliation
To help leadership and our volunteer community partners, I implemented a suggestion to report volunteer data for specifics groups (affiliations). Administrators and program managers can now view volunteer data from the following categories: active duty, civilian, spouses, dependents, retirees, and other. Find the Categories icon on the admin page to view grouped volunteer data. Select an installation, then the group icons will become links. Click the group icon and volunteers within the selected group will be displayed. Visit our Facebook page for application images: https://www.facebook.com/myairforcevolunteer.
Hello Volunteers! As we wrap up 2015, please be sure to log your volunteer hours for the year. If your location participates in annual recognition using the President's Volunteer Service Award as a form of recognition, your installation’s volunteer program coordinator will need your hours to calculate which awards you qualify for. Most installations will host their volunteer recognition ceremony in April to align with National Volunteer Appreciation Week. Most likely a deadline will be presented to enter your hours. Each location has the control to decide a cut-off date, so please log your hours right away to avoid missing the deadline. Thank you for your volunteerism and have a wonderful 2016.
We decided to change the icons. First we cleaned them up and removed the multiple colors. Then several users said they like the colors better; although, they prefer the colors, they also like the cleaner icons. So we met in the middle. Hope you like them.
Also, We moved the How-to-vids link to the Support page and added a link to our Facebook page in the Navigation Header.
We are now using myairforcevolunteer.com at several USAFE installations throughout Europe. If your Installation is not listed please contact me via the feedback function and I will see what I can do to help get you started. Please check out the How-to section to learn how this website can help you location manage volunteer hours. When you get a chance, like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/myairforcevolunteer
The first thing you may have noticed is the url has changed. http://myairforcevolunteer.com is your new url for accessing volunteer information and logging volunteer hours. One notable upgrade is the ability to register and login with Facebook. If you have previously registered and would like to login using your Facebook credentials, simple log in with your username and password, go to Settings, then click the Link with Facebook button.
Another new item is the ability to change your location from your settings page. This way, when you go TDY or PSC to a new location, your volunteer data goes with you. All locations are not loaded and it may be some time before we get them all listed. Please be patient as we are starting with USAFE installations; specifically, The Ramstein KMC and Spandahlem. We'll work as fast as we can.
Thank you for showing interest in myairforcevolunteer.com. Be sure to provide feedback on your experience and suggestions for improvements. Check out the "how-to" section to learn your way around this website. Use the Feedback button to contact the sight administrator via email.
You can pin this website to your device's homescreen for quick access. Android: With this site open in your browser, tap the menu button and select "Add Shortcut." If "Add Shortcut" is not available, add this site to your bookmarks, then long-select the bookmark and choose "Add to Home Screen." IOS: From within Safari, browse the website you want to make an icon for and hit the share button up at the top. It's the one that looks like a box with an arrow coming out of it. Once the share box pops up, you'll see an option in the middle - Add to home screen. Tap it, name the shortcut (or don't...there is a name in there by default), and click add.
When register an organization, consider the longevity an purpose along with the owning function. I noticed several registered organizations that would fall under volunteer events. For example: A committee organizing a single event should not be registered as an organization. If the committee is assembled on behalf of the wing or unit, the unit should be registered as the organization and post the event as a volunteer opportunity. Committee members can then favorite the event and log hours.
Think of it this way. An organization is ongoing and can host and manage multiple events. A group of people assembled to organize an event is a group of volunteers working on a specific task that is not ongoing.
Hello users. I added several updates based on your feedback. New features include: add general volunteer hours (use Add Hours icon from landing page - individual account only); pagination to allow ease of navigation; custom style sheets for compatibility with IE8; and several other bug fixes. Please continue to provide your feedback.
I added a couple of new items. Organizations and volunteers now have a PVSA progress bar on their landing page. This progress bar calculates your achievements towards the President's Volunteer Service Award. The bar will start with bronze. Once you achieve the hours needed for the bronze award the bar will reset and progress in silver ... following silver is of course gold! Additionally, I changed the sort order when viewing volunteer opportunities to show the most recently created opportunities first.
Thanks to community feedback, this site was updated allowing users to edit and delete volunteer time log entries. When you perform a query on the stats page (individual login type only), you will see an edit link next to each time log entry. Click the link to edit or delete your log entry.
Additionally, the site's server-side scripts were updated using the most current language resources to increase the site's longevity.
